Facilities

CAMPUS FACILITIES AND REGULATIONS

The College offers a well - equipped and salubrious environment of exceptional standards. Campus life pivots around library, hostels, and conference halls etc. which serve as social centers and provide congenial atmosphere for the students to learn together. The diversity of student backgrounds and personal interests add variety and richness to the group living experience. Many co-curricular activities and cultural events provide a variety of rich opportunities for learning and personal developments.

I. BUILDINGS AND WORKSHOPS

The college campus consists of five blocks of four storied buildings with a built-up area of 20000 sq. m. for classrooms, library, labs, workshops and hostels. The work of a sports complex is nearing completion and a full-fledged auditorium with seating capacity of 2000 is being planned.

II. LIBRARY

The library is well stocked with over 20,000 volumes of relevant text books, 7000 e-books and 2500 journals (National and International including e-journals). The well equipped and spacious digital library is fully computerized and supported by internet access with multimedia facility to enable staff and students to search and reserve books in advance. It is also equipped with NPTEL e-learning courses, sufficient number of LCD projectors, educational audio and video CD, CD ROMs, TVs, VCRs and reprographic facility. The library can accommodate 300 users at a time. There is a library committee represented by various departments to advise the librarian on the governance, organization and proper utilization of the library.

III. INTERNET & COMMUNICATION FACILITIES

To enable students and staff to move shoulder to shoulder with the fast paced world of information technology at the same momentum, internet facility through dedicated broadband connection of 2Mbps speed is provided during library working hours. The campus is also Wi-Fi enabled.

IV. HOSTELS

There are separate hostels for men and women students within the campus with capacity of about 400 in each. Admission to the hostel is restricted to the students of the college and the Head of the Institution reserves the right to deny admission. Hostel admission is for one academic year and will be renewed yearly, based on inmates conduct during previous year. A serene atmosphere with utmost care and security are provided with facilities like recreation, mess facility, medical-aid, transportation etc. This stress free zone helps students to concentrate in studies without any hindrance. Inmates are taken to nearby church and temple on every Sunday and on special occasions, and every Friday to mosque. A resident warden, deputy warden and a team of resident tutors ensure maintenance of homely atmosphere and discipline. There is a nurse appointed by the college to provide first aid and to render any medical help necessary.

V. STAFF QUARTERS

A separate bungalow in the campus is available for accommodating senior faculties. For staff members who are bachelors, rooms in the hostels are allocated on single/twin sharing basis. Additional staff quarters for senior faculty are being planned, to be completed in the near future.

VI. RESTAURANT

High quality food and refreshments prepared by professional workers are served at reasonable rates from the restaurant. The menu formulated by a dietitian caters to the taste of both vegetarian & non-vegetarians and is periodically revised to include variety dishes. On the whole, a balanced diet is provided.

VII.BOOKSHOP/ STORE

A bookshop cum mini store operates in the campus and supplies all types of study materials and stationery items required by the students.

VIII. TRANSPORTATION

Daily bus trips consisting of a fleet of 17 college owned modern buses are available for bonafide day scholar students and college staff from different towns covering all the nearby districts. Hostellers are provided free transportation to the nearest railway station or bus stand once in a month to go home.
